We will have open mat this Saturday, May 21st from 10:00AM to 11:30AM. The time will be used for test prep and general open mat time. All are welcome to participate in this 90 minute training session. Please note that we share the parking lot with several businesses that operate on Saturday morning so our members/guests will need to park in the Broken Spoke's parking lot (next door to our dojo) for the Saturday morning class. |

Last Sunday we had two kyu tests with Galen Orion and Ashley Delgado each testing for Rokyu. Galen got to go first and did a great job of executing all of the required techniques. Galen showed a beautiful line on his ikkyo, which was simply awesome, and a lot of understanding of aiki, even for a first test. Way to go Galen! Then Ashley began her kyu test and showed great poise under pressure. She has the most amazing calm and confident energy, which made all the techniques look very easy. Ashley did an amazing job on her randori, especially considering it was her first kyu test. Way to go Ashley! Both tests exhibited a lot of good aikido principles, which will continue to get better over time. Following the tests we went to PEI WEI for dinner and a chance to talk more about aikido. It was a great time! Thanks to everyone who participated in the kyu test event to make it very special. |

Daniel Friedmen was impressive with his birthday rolls last night, rolling 121 times for the energetic Aikidoka who helped him celebrate his 25th birthday. After class, he continued to practice on his rolls, rolling many more times. Too cool! Happy Birthday Daniel! |

Stephen Hughes did an wonderful job with his birthday rolls on Tuesday, rolling 46 times in the kids class and another 80 times in the adult class for the many energetic Aikidoka who helped celebrate his 22nd birthday. Happy Birthday Stephen! |
