Welcome to South Austin Aikido

Last night Denne Reed tested for Ikkyu.  The test was fast paced and even though Denne has not been training with our group for very long, his strong training ethic was clearly evident during his test.  Denne’s tanto dori was impressive, demonstrating many clean entries and takeaways.  His randori was also a pleasure to watch.  He remained calm and utilized many great concepts throughout the randori.  His movement, change of tempo and use of the matt were awesome!   Denne claimed to be a little nervous, but you could not tell in the performance of his test.  Way to go Denne on an awesome test!!

Thank you Violina, Todd, Tim, Jesse and Tommy for providing the ukemi during Denne’s test.  Following the test, several of us went to La Feria for food and celebration.  It was a truly an enjoyable evening.
