This past weekend a number of us traveled to San Antonio for a seminar with George Ledyard Sensei.  The seminar focused on "aiki" found in all techniques and how to manifest this feeling in basic techniques.  We got a little insight into what "aiki" should be and how it changes the feeling of the technique.  The training was a lot of fun and extremely insightful.  Thank you Ledyard Sensei for an incredible Aikido weekend!

On Saturday, Shawn Young tested for her shodan.  It was a wonderful experience to be there and support Shawn during her test.  Shawn did and awesome job, especially in koshinage and randori.  Tommy, Todd, and I were thankful for the privilege to participate in Shawn's test and we all enjoyed the celebration that followed.  Great Job Shawn!!

We had a potluck party sponsored by the Young family, which featured a lot of food and great conversation.  The party lasted into the wee hours of the morning, making it challenging to get up bright and early Sunday morning.  What a great aikido weekend!

Special thanks to Shawn and Michael Young for putting us up for the weekend.  In addition, thanks to Kendra for also putting a number of us up in her home as well.  Thanks to our HCA members Tim, Chad, Tommy, Alina, Pamela, Ryan, Mark, Charles, Todd, Barbara, Brian, and Brenda for taking time out of their lives to support this wonderful seminar.
