Happy New Year!! We began the year on the right foot with a special New Years Day training event. We had a nice turn out with some regulars, some new faces and there was even a rumor that Ruben made a surprise appearance with his wife Sara. Following class we cleaned the walls of dust with brooms and any other implements of destruction that seemed to work in preparation for painting. Then Hiroaki and his wife Naoko showed us how to do calligraphy with special paper and ink from Japan. It was a lot fun as well as challenging for those of us who are artistically challenged. Some of us managed to paint ourselves in addition to the paper. What a great way to start the New Year! Sunday's training included a special one and a half hour class followed by a pizza party in preparation for painting. We had a super turn out to assist in the painting. In fact, along with the other groups at the yoga school, we had more bodies than job functions. This is a good problem to have. Thanks to Todd, Barbara, Brenda, Tommy, Brian, Mark McDonald, Mark Sullivan, Chad, Chadwick, Pamela, Alina, Kaye, Tom, Robert and Leslie Sensei for making the painting of the space a successful endeavor. Special thanks to Barbara and Brenda Kammerer for ordering pizza and organizing everything for us following our training. |
