New Year’s Eve practice, known as Toshi Koshi Geiko, is an opportunity to end one year and begin the following year by focusing on the betterment of oneself and the world through Aikido.

This traditional practice begins at 11:00 or 11:30 at night and continues through the New Year. This practice often includes special ceremonies to evoke harmony, purification, and community. Whether ceremonies are involved or not, the New Year’s Eve practice is an opportunity to honor these values, our aikido community, and our beloved martial art.

South Austin Aikido will have a special 60-minute class from 11:30PM to 12:30AM. This will provide us the opportunity to finish 2006 and begin 2007 with Aikido training. What an awesome way to start the year!
