On Saturday, March 10th, Violina and Denné hosted a BBQ at their home in West Lake Hills. The theme of the party is what Denné calls lion night, something of a personal holiday of thanksgiving to be celebrated with friends and food. During the party, Denné shared the story that inspired Usiku wa Simba, which involved lions during one of his visits to East Africa. It was an incredible story and one that all would definitely enjoy hearing, so remember mark your calendars for next year :-) Several of our members attended along with fellow colleagues of Violina and Denné from UT. It was a perfect afternoon for a BBQ on their deck, especially with the incredible views of the surrounding area. There was lots of good East African food & music, as well as plenty of desserts. Needless to say, we all had a wonderful time relaxing on the deck late in to the evening. Thank you Violina and Denné for being such wonderful hosts of an awesome party - Usiku wa Simba (Lion Night). |
