This may have been the most exciting year yet to visit the Rockies summer camp. We had 10 participants from our dojo attending the camp and many were used for ukemi by several of the instructors. Darrell was used by Ikeda Sensei and Saotome Sensei, Violina for Ushiro Sensei, Denne by Nevill Nason and Gilbert Ryan by Doran Sensei.

Each of the Shihans showed us that aikido goes well beyond what we can see in a physical realm. We worked on many different ki exercises that were fun, yet challenging and we returned home with many new ideas to play with for some time.

Then we attended the party on Friday where a true dance king was revealed, Gilbert Ryan Hughes, who danced and danced with just about anybody. In fact, I am quite sure I saw him dancing with George Ledyard Sensei at one point.

The camp was once again a tremendous learning experience for us all. It was such a joy for me to see our members get so excited about learning the many new things to practice.
