Last weekend Chad Leath, Darrell White and myself traveled to Seattle to attend George Ledyard Sensei’s Weapons/Randori Intensive. The training covers four days of very intensive practice which is quite tiring. The word "intensive" in the title of the seminar does not do this seminar justice. It is very intense, although invaluable, practice on elevating your ability to concentrate and focus on your partner. It also points out areas in your practice that need more attention. Many of us discovered how difficult it is to access our aikido technique when put under intense pressure. Our first reaction is to stiffen and stay outside of the attack rather than to enter and allow the attack to unfold on our terms.

At the end of each day we just wanted to find a hot tub and sleep. But looking back and watching others progress during the weekend of training was exciting. Great work Chad and Darrell on some great training!
