This past weekend, many of us traveled to San Antonio to attend a seminar with George Ledyard Sensei from Seattle’s Eastside Aikido. During the weekend, Ledyard Sensei covered many fundamental concepts of aikido to help us add "content" to our daily practice. In addition, Sensei gave us a format for recognizing what other high level teachers are doing during their techniques which appears so magical.

Many of the exercises allowed us to ignore technique and instead explore the proper feeling of relaxed connection and finding a connection to our partners, which led to unified movement with our partners. We worked on intention and how our mental focus leads our body movement. This was all very useful information that we will be able to work into our practice. A lot of the exercises were done slowly but somehow I managed to exhaust myself every session. The focus required took a lot of brain power but was very rewarding. Thanks to Ledyard Sensei for an information-packed seminar, and thanks to everyone at Alamo City Aikido for hosting this incredible seminar!
