We were very fortunate to have Mary Heiny Sensei visit our community last month. This was truly an awesome experience for us all! As some of you may know, Mary Heiny Sensei is in need of a hip replacement, but unfortunately does not have sufficient insurance for the much needed procedure. Several people in the Aikido community nation wide have come together to raise money to help with Heiny Sensei's surgery and recovery. See "Friends of Mary Heiny" links listed below for more information. We will be collecting donations from our community and then will send into the FOMH fund. If you are able to donate, whether $5, $10 or possibly more, every amount will help an inspirational teacher who has dedicated her life teaching Aikido. The Dojo itself will be contributing $500 + any donations that we collect from our members. In addition, a few of us will be matching each dollar donated by our membership up to a total $500. This would mean that if we collect $500 from our members + $500 membership matching + $500 from the dojo = $1,500 from our Aikido community.
