Recently one of our members, Alina Bushong, earned her IB Diploma. The IB stands for International Baccalaureate and it is a high school program which is only offered at a few high schools in the state of Texas. Students in this program can earn 24 hours of college credit by completing extra course work which is conducted at a higher level to the regular high school curriculum, writing papers on selected topics and taking special tests.

Only about 6 or 7 of these degrees are earned each year from the Leander/Cedar Park School district.  Alina completed her high school degree in the spring of 2007 but fell a couple of points short of earning the degree. She completed extra papers and studied all year to redo testing which was conducted in May of this year. She was recently notified of her success and we are all very proud of her. Many students would have given up but Alina stuck with it and pulled it off. Way to go Alinasan! You rock!
