Cierra pins her sweaty but proud dad.

Thursday night Cierra Kling became the first member to test in our new space. Cierra made us all proud, showing great poise while performing all of the required techniques and plenty more. She moved in a relaxed manner, showing great progress for someone who has been studying aikido for only 8 months.

This was also our first junior kyu test. Cierra clearly demonstrated that at a young age one can have a solid understanding of aikido principles and basic movements. I am not sure but I believe that I was more nervous about the test than she was. Great job Cierra! Now on with the hakama!

Afterwards we celebrated Cierra's wonderful Youth Rokyu test with cupcakes, maintaining our tradition of "eat, train, eat." Thank you Barbara for making the cupcakes and thank you Tim, Chadwick and Todd for providing ukemi for the test.
