Craig Sensei shows Todd how much safer it is to be nage than uke.

On Sunday we had a guest instructor from our sister dojo in San Antonio, Alamo City Aikido. Craig Slack Sensei gave us a special training day, providing the opportunity to challenge our members at all levels. This was our first special training day in the new space. The energy was outstanding with 14 aikidoka on the mat and we all had a wonderful time.

Craig Sensei has an incredible understanding of how to approach connection as both uke and nage. He has clearly learned a lot during his time Ikeda Sensei over the past year, which is evident in his movement and feel. Now if we can just begin to catch up a little. It was a refreshing change of pace to have Craig Sensei come and get us back to thinking about where our aikido should be heading. Now it is time for us to attempt to incorporate these ideas into our training.
